Hrithik Roshan

One of the most prolific actors of Bollywood in the recent times, Hrithik Roshan was born on January 10, 1974 to Rakesh and Pinky Roshan. Belonging to a family that had strong connections with Bollywood (his father Rakesh is an eminent actor and film director), Hrithik was initiated to the world of acting from a very early age. As a child actor, Hrithik made his debut in the movie Aasha, at a time when he just six years of age. During the mid-nineties, Hrithik became an assistant director to his father, helping him to make films like Karan Arjun (1995) and Koyla (1997).
This handsome hunk catapulted into fame almost overnight with the release of the movie Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai in 2000. The movie became the highest grosser of the year and earned Hrithik the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor and the Best Male Debutant. Later that year, he starred in the critically acclaimed movie Fiza, which earned him another nomination for the Best Actor at the Filmfare awards. Mission Kashmir was Hrithik's last release of 2000, and was also well received by the audience.
The next two years of Hrithik's career were marred by a string of flops. Films like Yaadein, Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum and Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage failed to make an impact at the box office. However, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, which featured Hrithik alongside Shahrukh Khan, did extremely well in India and abroad.Hrithik regained his Midas touch in 2003, when he staged a super-comeback with the movie Koi Mil Gaya.
