Sharon Stone- My Top 5

Sharon Stone- My Top 5
I first came across Sharon Stone in one of the hilarious movie series ‘Police Academy’.My cousin brother who was 5 years elder to me used to talk about this actor who resembled Madonna in ways more than one.Over the years I have also started liking this actor in ways more than one. I have picked up 5 movies which I think became special because of her presence in them.

Total Recall (1990):
Total Recall (1990) This movie was supposed to be the big one which made audience recall Sharon over and over again for the first time. Sharon stood out in a short and significant role, playing Lori, Arnie’s wife in this film. This character also made way for the Femme Fatale role which we all remember too well- Catherine Tramell, what else?The memorable scenes in TR were the romantic ones with Arnie and the aggressive Sharon who breaks Arnie’s perfect marital bliss by saying: “Your whole life is a dream “
Year of the Gun (1991):
This movie was called a messy political thriller but what I liked in this movie was Alison King, the character Sharon plays. Alison is a gutsy photo-journalist and the other woman, bringing a faint parallel to ‘Total Recall’ where we know that she is not the main love interest of Arnold. The strange tension and attraction between Alison and David played by Andrew McCarthy is worth a watch. David who is a journalist and deeply in love with an Italian woman falls into Sharon’s charms. Even you will when you watch this movie. The last scene is tantalizing when they both stare at each other, both being far away with the television screen as a barrier.
Basic Instinct (1992):
A gruesome murderer. A perfect crime. A cop who can't resist the danger.Even this cannot summarize ‘BI’, Sharon’s ticket to eternal movie fame. The mysterious lingering glance of Sharon will chase you long after the move has ended. One of the amazing feats I guess in BI was the difficult nude scenes which Sharon carried of so well. I have heard that Catherine’s character was supposed to be played by Demi Moore but it was her pregnancy that came in the way. However I cannot think of a better replacement other than Sharon. Sharon goes under the skin of Catherine Tramell, the charming alluring, electric and best-selling author. She is rich, powerful, manipulative and bisexual.One of the striking scenes in the movie is the bar/disco where Nick(Michael Douglas) the cop and Roxy, Catherine’s girlfriend vie for her attention.BI came with a great package and stuff but the ribbon binding all together was Catherine Tramell.
Casino (1995):
Coming to the Madonna connection, I heard that Madonna was considered for the role but Sharon convinced Martin Scorsese. This brought a worthy Oscar nomination for Stone. Stone plays Ginger, a call girl whose only interests in life are money, drugs and more money. The dark element as in the above three films continue here too.
The Mighty(1998):
This is a heart warming story of a unique friendship. This is an overall feel good movie and you all must see it to know about Sharon. I keep mummm !However if you have seen ‘Simon Birch’ you will find this movie not a big deal at all.
